Held in May each year, The Miami Herald Athletic Awards presented by BankUnited, recognizes the achievements of Miami-Dade and Broward high school athletes and coaches in over 15 categories. All private and public high school athletes are eligible for nomination. More than 80 schools join the competition each year drawing an attendance of 1,000 or more at each ceremony. Presented since 1964, it has become one of South Florida’s most coveted high school awards ceremonies.
